Palestine: Abbas giving himself 'absolute authority'; Rights group

01 Nov 2022; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas has given himself "absolute authority" through the formation of Supreme Council for Judicial Bodies and Committees, the Palestine Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) said yesterday.

In a statement, the PCHR said the presidential decree, which ordered the formation of this council, "was a dangerous precedent" as Abbas has become the "actual ruler of all authorities in the occupied territories."

Palestinians warn of escalation of settler terrorist attacks

Palestinian National Initiative mourns Palestinians 'executed' by Israeli occupation forces

29 October 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian National Initiative mourned two members of Palestinian Authority (PA) security services "executed" by Israeli occupation forces at Huwwara checkpoint on Friday.

Early on Friday, Imad Abu Rashid and Ramzi Zbara were killed by the Israeli occupation forces at Huwwara checkpoint at the entrance of the West Bank city of Nablus.

Another Palestinian Killed In West Bank Clashes: Medics

RAMALLAH, Oct 28 (NNN-WAFA) – One more Palestinian was killed and two others seriously injured, in clashes today with Israeli soldiers, in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian medics said.

Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses said that, a 47-year-old man was shot dead, when Israeli soldiers opened fire at a Palestinian car, passing by the Israeli army checkpoint, near the village of Huwara south of Nablus.

6 Palestinians killed by Israel in occupied West Bank

25 October 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces killed six Palestinians this morning across the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus, including Wadih Al Houh, a leader of the Lions' Den group.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire. One of those killed was unarmed, it added.

Israeli troops raid gunmen’s hideout; 5 Palestinians killed

NABLUS, West Bank (AP) — Israeli forces raided a stronghold of an armed group in the occupied West Bank’s second largest city, blowing up an explosives lab and engaging in a firefight, the military said Tuesday. Five Palestinians were killed and 20 were wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The overnight raid in the old city, or kasbah, of Nablus, was one of the deadliest in the West Bank in 2022 and comes at a time of escalating tensions.

Television footage showed flames and smoke rising in the night sky over Nablus.

Palestine: Hamas claims foiling Israeli intelligence operations in Gaza

23 October 2022; MEMO: The Hamas-run Interior Ministry said Saturday it had thwarted several Israeli intelligence operations in the Gaza Strip, reports Anadolu Agency.

Iyad al-Bozom, the ministry spokesman, did not, however, provide any details of the thwarted operations.

On Monday, Doha-based Al-Jazeera TV said that last month Malaysian authorities had freed a Palestinian kidnapped by Israeli Mossad agents in the capital Kuala Lumpur.

Palestinian killed by Israeli soldiers at military roadblock in West Bank: medics

RAMALLAH, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian was killed on Saturday by Israeli soldiers at an Israeli army roadblock near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a press statement that Rabi Arafa Rabi, 32, was killed by Israeli soldiers after being shot in the head.

Israel occupation forces, settlers attack Palestinians across occupied West Bank

22 October 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces on Friday attacked Palestinian demonstrations, while Israeli settlers attacked farmers across the occupied West Bank cities, Al-Resalah newspaper reported.

Following Friday prayers, Palestinians rallied at the Israeli military checkpoints of Huwwara, south of Nablus, and Beit Furik, east of Nablus. They also gathered near the Deir Sharaf crossing, which has been closed for 12 days.
