Israeli soldier shoots dead 16-year-old Palestinian child in Occupied West Bank

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: A 16-year-old Palestinian child was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier last night, in the Occupied West Bank city of Nablus, reported Wafa news agency.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Ahmed Shehada was killed following an Israeli military raid that resulted in him being shot in the heart.

Israel control over Occupied West Bank Area C costs Palestinians $2.5bn annually: UN

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Restrictions imposed by Israeli Occupation authorities on Palestinian development in Area C of the Occupied West Bank cost the Palestinian economy an estimated $50 billion between 2000 and 2020, the United Nations (UN) said in a report yesterday.

The UN found that the extra restrictions in Area C, which accounts for about 61 per cent of the Occupied West Bank, had cost $2.5 billion per year.

EU delegation - 'appalled' by Israel's demolition of primary school in Occupied Palestine

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: The European Union Delegation to the Palestinians said Wednesday it was "appalled" after Israeli forces destroyed a primary school in the Masafer Yatta in the Occupied West Bank, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"Appalled by news that ISF demolished the donor funded Sfai School in Masafer Yatta in Occupied Palestinian Territory, one day after a diplomatic visit by several EU member States," it said.

30 Palestinian families face expulsion from Jerusalem

21 Nov 2022; MEMO: Some 30 Palestinian families face the threat of expulsion from their homes in occupied East Jerusalem as they received eviction notices from Israel's Land Administration, Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed yesterday.

Israel's Lands Administration sent the eviction notices despite having a document from the 1980s proving that the land is owned by Palestinians.

Palestine committed to peace in Mideast based on int'l legitimacy: official

RAMALLAH, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official on Sunday stated that Palestine is committed to achieving peace in the Middle East by implementing relevant international resolutions.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesman of the Palestinian Presidency, made the remarks in response to Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu, who said earlier that Palestinians "are not interested in making peace with Israel."

In a press statement, the spokesman accused Netanyahu of "trying to deceive and mislead the world's public opinion."

Illegal Israeli settlers steal cattle from Palestinian farmers

20 Nov 2022; MEMO: Illegal Jewish settlers today stole six cows owned by Palestinians in the north of Jordan Valley region, as the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory and violence by settlers continue.

According to the Palestine News Agency (WAFA), local Palestinian rights activist Aref Daraghmeh reported that settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation forces stole six cows owned by Palestinian farmers, sedating some of the cows with anesthesia in the process.

Israel bans Palestinians from entering Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied city of Hebron

18 Nov 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities have banned Palestinians from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied city of Hebron, the Palestinian Ministry of Endowment announced yesterday.

"The occupation authorities will close the Ibrahimi Mosque, starting Friday afternoon until Saturday evening," the ministry said in a statement, noting that the move had come under the pretext of "celebrating the Jewish Sabbath holiday."

Twitter suspends Palestine Online account

17 Nov 2022; MEMO: Social media platform Twitter has suspended the Palestine Online account, one of the most influential Palestinian news outlets. The account which had over 80,000 followers was suspended for violating Twitter rules yesterday, although no explicit reason has been given.

The account routinely shared on the ground news from occupied Palestine and had built a reputation for exposing on-going Israeli crimes against Palestinians. 

UNRWA urged urgent aid to continue services for Palestine refugees

AMMAN, Nov 15 (NNN-PETRA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), urgently needs between 50 and 80 million U.S. dollars, to finish the year and maintain the operations of its schools, health centres and other basic services, the agency’s Commissioner General, Philippe Lazzarini, said yesterday.

At the agency’s Advisory Commission Meeting in Amman, Lazzarini warned that, failure to raise that amount poses significant risks of industrial action, strikes, and consequently the suspension of services, according to a UNRWA statement.
