Israeli soldier puts a snake inside a Palestinian car

07 Jan 2019; MEMO: A snake was slipped into a Palestinian family’s car by an Israeli soldier during a routine search of the vehicle in the West Bank, the Jerusalem Post has reported. The soldier stopped Nidal Sayid while he was driving with his family in his taxi at a checkpoint located at the Beit Furik junction in eastern Nablus, and apparently slipped a snake inside a bottle into the vehicle.

Egyptair suspends flights to Baghdad for 3 days: statement

(Reuters) - EgyptAir, Egypt’s flag carrier, said on Tuesday it will suspend its flights to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, for three days starting from Wednesday because of the instable security situation in Iraq.

The suspension, which will continue until Friday, was taken “for the safety of our passengers and planes and until the security situation stabilizes in the city,” the company said in a statement.

Dozens killed in stampede at Iranian commander's funeral, burial postponed

Saudi arrests 'most dangerous wanted terrorist' in eastern province: state TV

DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia arrested a man in Qatif, eastern Saudi Arabia, after he opened fire on a security patrol, state-run Al Ekhbariya TV said on Tuesday, adding that he was wanted for robberies on vehicles transporting cash.

The Ekhbariya report described the man as the “most dangerous wanted terrorist”, without providing more details.

Iranians mass for burial in hometown of general killed by US

Turkish FM arrives in Algeria to discuss Libyan crisis

Turkey deploys troops to Libya

ANKARA, Jan 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said troops have begun moving into Libya to ensure stability for the UN-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli.

The military deployment was approved last week by the Turkish parliament to deter the Libyan rebel forces, led by General Khalifa Haftar, who have been trying to capture the capital.

Gen Haftar is backed by Egypt and the UAE, while the UN-backed government is supported by Turkey and its ally Qatar.
