Israel army launches Farsi social media amid Iran escalation

28 Aug 2019; MEMO: The Israeli army has launched several Farsi language social media accounts against the backdrop of mounting tensions with Iran.

In a press release yesterday, the Spokesperson’s Unit of the Israeli army said it has now launched Farsi language accounts on Twitter, Instagram and encrypted messaging service Telegram.

Hezbollah to retaliate against Israel but war unlikely

28 Aug 2019; MEMO: Hezbollah will retaliate against Israel after drones crashed in Beirut’s suburbs, but a new war between the old enemies remains unlikely, the Iran-backed movement’s deputy leader has said, reports Reuters.

“I rule out that the atmosphere is one of war, it is one of a response to an attack,” Sheikh Naim Qassem told Russia’s RT Arabic channel on Tuesday night. “Everything will be decided at its time.”

UNRWA head says world does not understand suffering of Palestinians in Gaza

Pierre Krähenbühl made his comment at a press conference in a refugee school in Gaza to celebrate the start of the new academic year.

Turkey, Mexico Resume Free Trade Deal Talks

ANKARA, Turkey, Aug 28 (NNN-ANADOLU) – A Turkish senior trade official, announced that, Turkey and Mexico have agreed to restart negotiations on Free Trade Agreement.

A bilateral meeting, recently held with Luz Maria de la Mora, the undersecretary for Foreign Trade of Mexico, has been “very fruitful,” said Gonca Yilmaz Batur, Turkey’s deputy minister of trade, at the Turkey-Mexico Trade and Investment Seminar.

2 Palestinians killed in Gaza explosion

GAZA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday night in an explosion southwest of the Gaza City, medics and security officials said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters that the two killed Palestinians are security officers, adding that three other people were injured.

An official press statement of the Hamas-run Ministry of Interior said that the security forces are investigating the explosion.
