Israel forces storm Al-Aqsa, force Palestinian worshippers out

20 June 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque last night in occupied East Jerusalem and removed hundreds of Palestinian worshippers, including the Islamic Waqf guards.

Israeli soldiers then locked the gates leading to the mosque and prevented access to Palestinians arriving for night-long prayers to mark the first day of Dhu Al-Hijja, the final month in the Islamic calendar, reported Wafa news agency.

Thousands of Syrians return from Turkiye after encouraging security measures

20 June 2023; MEMO: After Operation Peace Spring organised in October 2019, tens of thousands of Syrian migrants living in Turkiye returned to the northern districts of Tal Abyad and Ras Al-Ayn, Anadolu Agency reports.

The local councils in Tal Abyad and Ras Al-Ayn, which were cleared of terrorism, provided employment for approximately 10,000 people in various areas, including health and education.

Palestine: 4 Israelis killed in shooting attack in occupied West Bank

20 June 2023; MEMO: At least four Israeli settlers were killed and four others injured in a shooting attack in the Occupied West Bank on Tuesday, according to the military, Anadolu Agency reports.

In a statement, the army said two gunmen opened fire at a gas station adjacent to the settlement of Eli, between the cities of Ramallah and Nablus.

One of the attackers was shot dead by an Israeli settler, while the other fled the scene.

The Israeli army launched a manhunt for the other attacker.

Palestine: Eyewitnesses call Israel military raid on West Bank a 'war'

20June 2023; MEMO: The Palestinians who witnessed the Israeli army raid on Monday in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, which killed six Palestinians and injured 91 others, likened it to a "war", Anadolu Agency reports.

Mohammed Abu Hatab, 39, a resident of Jenin, told Anadolu on Tuesday that they woke up early in the morning to the sound of heavy gunfire, thinking "there was a war".

Qatar set to strike second big LNG supply deal with China

20 June 2023; MEMO: Qatar is set to secure a second large gas supply deal with a Chinese state-controlled company in less than a year, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and QatarEnergy are expected to sign a 27-year agreement on Tuesday, under which China will purchase 4 million metric tons of LNG a year from the Gulf state, the report said, citing people briefed on the matter.
