Chinese expert says energy enterprises facing cyber security challenging

HOUSTON, May 8 (Xinhua): A project manager of China Mobile International Limited (CMI) said Tuesday night that energy enterprises, like companies in other industries, are facing challenging of cyber security.

Gongpeng Wei, project manager of CMI which is headquartered in Hong Kong and is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Mobile, told the 2019 Energy Industry Theme Reception, held in Houston, U.S. state of Texas during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), that 2018 was a year of frequent information leakage incidents.

India: 3 arrested in Alwar gang rape case

Alwar, May 8 (PTI) Three of the five people were arrested in connection with the Alwar gang rape case, police said Wednesday.

Fourteen police teams were pressed into service to nab the other two accused, IG Jaipur S Segathir said.

Those arrested were identified as Indraraj Gurjar, Ashok and Mukesh, he said, adding that Mukesh had also recorded the crime and uploaded the video on social media.

India: Woman gang-raped in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 8 (PTI) A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men in Rajasthan's Nagaur district, police said.

The woman had visited a kiosk in March for submitting an application for LPG gas connection. A few days ago, the accused took her to Kuchaman city on the pretext of gas connection-related work. The accused served her intoxicated drink and allgedly gang-raped her. They also recorded a video of the crime, an officer said.

Students kill classmate, injure 8 at school near Columbine

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) — Two high school students shot and killed a classmate and injured eight others at a charter school in a Colorado community that marked the 20th anniversary of one of the nation’s worst school shootings just weeks ago.

Douglas County sheriff’s officials said Devon Erickson, 18, and a younger student walked into the STEM School Highlands Ranch Tuesday afternoon and opened fire on students in two classrooms, prompting students to run shouting through the halls or to hide out of sight as gunfire echoed through school.

Trump taxes show losses of $1.7 billion over decade: report

Washington, May 8 (AFP/PTI) President Donald Trump's taxes show that he lost 1.7 billion over a decade starting in the mid-1980s, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Trump's apparent losses are greater than nearly any other individual American taxpayer, so much so that he managed to avoid paying income taxes for eight of the 10 years.

Trump's federal tax forms from 1985 show he reported 46.1 million in losses from his main businesses, which consisted mainly of casinos, hotels and retail spaces in apartment buildings.

Iran steps away from parts of nuclear deal

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s president says the Islamic Republic will keep its excess enriched uranium and heavy water, setting a 60-day deadline for new terms for its nuclear deal.

Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday that if that deadline passes without better terms, Iran will begin higher enrichment of uranium.

He made the comments in a live address on Wednesday, the anniversary of President Donald Trump pulling America out of the accord.

Years of drug use cost him his wife, his money and his self-respect, before landing him in this drab yellow room at a Shanghai hospital, facing the surgeon who in 72 hours will drill two small holes in his skull and feed electrodes deep into his brain.

The hope is that technology will extinguish his addiction, quite literally, with the flip of a switch.
