India: Man gets 10 years' RI for sexually assaulting minor

Mumbai, May 2 (PTI) A Mumbai court Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in his neighbourhood.

The 42-year-old man was found guilty under IPC section 376 (rape) as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act by special judge Bharti Kale.

About 37,000 National Guard officers to maintain public order on May 9

MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/: Almost 37,000 members of Russia’s National Guard will maintain public order and security across the country during the May 9 celebrations dedicated to Victory Day, the National Guard’s press service informed TASS on Friday.

"A total of 37,000 personnel will maintain public order throughout the country. In Moscow, 5,000 National Guard members will be involved in efforts to maintain public safety," the press service said.

Venezuela: Maduro Holds US, Bolton Responsible for Coup Attempt

Caracas; 2 May 2019; GANASHAKTI: The United States government was responsible for leading the attempted coup on April 30 and demanded an investigation against that nation, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro said Wednesday.

"John Bolton led yesterday's coup, I’m sure of that," the president said, referring to the U.S. National Security Advisor.

He also stressed that the coup conspiracy was defeated because the conscience of the Venezuelan people stood erect before the criminal coup.

Athletic hero killed in University of North Carolina terror attack

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Riley Howell had an athlete’s physique and loved working outdoors on his family’s farm. Ellis Parlier studied computer technology and liked video games.

Both of them were wrapping up the semester in the same anthropology class at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte when a gunman opened fire in the classroom. Howell and Parlier were killed in the attack Tuesday, and four other students were wounded.

Florida lawmakers pass bill allowing more armed teachers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — More Florida classroom teachers could carry guns in school under a bill passed Wednesday by state lawmakers, the latest response to last year’s mass shooting at a Parkland high school.

The Republican-led House voted 65-47 on Wednesday to send the bill to GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is expected to sign it. The measure expands an existing school “guardian” program to allow any teacher to volunteer to carry a weapon if their local school district approves.

Trump invites Hungarian leader Orban to May 13 meeting

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been invited by U.S. President Donald Trump for a “working meeting” on May 13, an official said Thursday.

the meeting in Washington will cover issues like energy security, defense cooperation, bilateral relations and regional security, Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs tweeted.

In July 2016, Orban became the first national leader in the European Union to endorse Trump in the U.S. election campaign.

Iran happy Venezuelans 'defeated coup'
