India: Two powerful IEDs found in a Jharkhand village

Medininagar (Jharkhand), Apr 27 (PTI) Security forces Saturday recovered two powerful IEDs buried under Panki-Balumath road near Jotang village in Palamau district, a senior police officer said here.

The Maoists buried the IEDs two feet beneath the road to target the security forces, Superintendent of Police Inderjit Mahata said.

5 bodies found in Tennessee, suspect captured after manhunt

WESTMORELAND, Tenn. (AP) — An officer in rural Tennessee shot the suspect in the investigation into the discovery of five bodies in two homes, capping an hours-long manhunt Saturday that ended with his capture.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokesman Josh DeVine said Michael Cummins, 25, was taken into custody that night about a mile (1.6 kilometers) away from one of the Sumner County crime scenes.

Pittsburgh synagogue terror: Violence ‘must end. Enough is enough!’

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh synagogue that six months ago was the site of the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history held a vigil and offered its sympathy after another deadly shooting Saturday at a synagogue near San Diego, saying such violence “must end.”

“It was only six months ago to the day that we became members of that tragic club of community-based shootings to which no one wants to belong,” read the statement from Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue.

India: Man, woman kill father over property dispute

Muzaffarnagar, Apr 28 (PTI) A man and a woman were arrested for allegedly killing their father over property dispute in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, police said Sunday.

Body of Panna Lal, 65, who was missing since February 18, was found at the house of his son at Thanabhawan town in Shamli district on Friday, they said.

During investigation it was found that Lal was killed by his son, Sunil Kumar, and daughter, Lata, as there was some property dispute between them, SHO Sandeep Balyan said.

Indian Polls: BJP greatest danger for India, like 440 volts: Mamata
