Thailand extends waiver of one-time entry fee for visa on arrival to October

BANGKOK, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's cabinet approved in principle on Wednesday an extended waiver of the fee for visa on arrival of foreign tourists to Thailand, according to a summary of cabinet meeting published online.

The waiver of the one-time entry fee for visa on arrival which was proposed by the Royal Thai Police, will be extended from May 1 until Oct. 31.

Such temporary waiver of the fee for visa on arrival will be extended in accordance with 2019's ministerial regulation for one-time entry of tourists from specified foreign countries.

Russia's Rosneft interested in jet fuel supplies on Indian market

MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. Russian state-run oil company Rosneft is interested in organizing supplies of jet fuel from the Indian oil refinery in the city of Vadinar to the airports in the country, said the head of Rosneft-Aero, Kirill Molodenkov.

Rosneft Aero is a subsidiary of Rosneft, which sells jet fuel produced at 9 Rosneft refineries.

Indian Polls: BJP contesting on 437 seats, highest ever in its history

New Delhi, Apr 24 (PTI) The BJP has fielded 437 candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the highest number of seats the party has contested so far and perhaps for the first time more than its principal rival Congress.

The BJP had contested 427 seats in 2014 and won 282 of them, while the Congress had fielded candidates in 450 seats and bagged just 44.

Saudi Arabia outpaced Russia by average daily oil production in February 2019

MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. Russia was producing 9.83 mln barrels of oil per day in March 2019 and lost 2.5% to Saudi Arabia, the state statistics service Rosstat reported on Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia was producing 10.09 mln barrels of oil per day in February 2019. According to statistics, total daily production of OPEC nations was 30.55 mln barrels in February 2019, including 4.63 mln barrels per day produced in Iraq (ranked second by oil production among OPEC members).

India: There is no nationalist party like Congress: Hardik

Amethi, Apr 24 (PTI) Hardik Patel Wednesday termed Congress the biggest nationalist party in the country and said several of its leaders have sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Addressing an election meeting here, Patel, who recently joined the Congress, also accused the BJP of trying to "derive mileage" out of the bravado of the country's armed forces, while his party is contesting the elections on issues of education, health and farmers.

Indian VP stresses need to make farming lucrative career

India: Two held in betting from Raipurwa

Kanpur: Two persons including a CSJMU student were arrested from Raipurwa police station on Tuesday late night. They were collecting money for betting in IPL matches. 

The police recovered a cash amount of Rs 14,000, mobile set and 12 receipts. Though the bookies remained successful in deleting the message and application used for this purpose. 

India: 97 teachers found absent from duty in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, Apr 24 (PTI) As many as 97 schoolteachers were found absent from duty during surprise checks in the district, officials said Wednesday.

District Magistrate (DM) Ajay Shanker Pandey told reporters that 35 officials were asked to conduct the surprise checks.

They raided a number of schools in the district on Tuesday. Departmental action will be initiated against the erring teachers, the DM sad.

India: 55-yr-old man 'rapes' class 6 girl

Kota (Raj), Apr 24 (PTI) A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father's friend in Rajasthan's Bundi district Wednesday, police said.

The girl, a student of class 6, was allegedly raped five days ago at an isolated place in Old Grain Mandi premises under Bundi city police station limits but approached police with her uncle only Wednesday, they said.
