Putin arrives in Kyrgyzstan for state visit

BISHKEK, March 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a state visit on Thursday.

The Russian president is due to hold talks in Bishkek with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay Jeenbekov, and later the two leaders will take part in the Russian-Kyrgyz international conference and visit the museum of Soviet and Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

Vietnam, Brunei upgrade relations to comprehensive partnership

HANOI, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam and Brunei decided here Wednesday to upgrade their bilateral relations to the comprehensive partnership.

The decision was made at the meeting between General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong and visiting Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

US county declares state of emergency amid measles outbreak

27 Mar 2019; AFP: A New York county hit by a measles outbreak declared a state of emergency Tuesday and banned non-vaccinated minors from public places in a bid to prevent the once-eliminated disease from spreading.

The measure, which defines a public place as anywhere "more than 10 persons are intended to congregate" -- including public transport -- was announced by officials in Rockland County, 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of New York City.

Kyrgyzstan’s troops hold joint drills with Russian combat aviation

BISHKEK, March 28. /TASS/. Servicemen of Russia’s Kant air base in Kyrgyzstan jointly with the Kyrgyz military are conducting drills in the Central Asian republic’s territory, the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces said on Thursday.

"Formations and units of the Air Defense Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Armed Forces are holding tactical drills across the entire republic jointly with the Russian air base in the city of Kant," the statement said. The drills will be wrapped up on March 28, according to the General Staff.

India: CBSE examinees trap in Economics question paper

Kanpur: The CBSE examinees trapped into tricky questions in Economics paper of Class 12. They could not solve question related with the national income. That particular question was so asked as it caused mental stress to the examinees. 

One teacher told the question paper was tricky but it was scoring too. The students were a little more panicky. 

On the contrary, the Class 10 Computer question paper was too easy to solve. They got considerable choice in the theory paper. They did not dishearten by looking at the question paper. 

Chinese company develops new technologies for early cancer detection

SHENZHEN, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Shenzhen-based BGI, China's top gene-sequencing provider, said they had developed two screening technologies for early cancer detection at a press conference Wednesday.

One technology can detect the gene mutation and methylation level of circulating tumor DNA in blood plasma, thus evaluating the risk of various cancers including lung, liver, ovarian, pancreatic and colorectal cancers, according to Zhu Shida, BGI's oncology consultant.

Kremlin refutes media reports on Putin getting some plan from Israel on Syrian settlement

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied on Wednesday media reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly handed over to President Vladimir Putin some plan regarding the resolution of the ongoing conflict in Syria.

"I cannot confirm this information," Peskov said. "In this case details must be apparently clarified to establish what plan we are talking about here and what [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu meant when he spoke about it."

India: Election pattern changed in Manchester of East

Kanpur: As many as 11 Parliamentarians have so far been sent to Dome of Democracy from  Kanpur. This figure covers all the 18 general elections held from the year1951 to 2014.

The party-wise figure goes thus: Congress 7,BJP 4,Independent 4, Praja Socialist Party 1,BLD 1, CPI 1.

There were 8 independent candidates who contested election in the year 2004. It was for the first time in the history of Kanpur a total of 16 candidates were in the fray.

Paris, Mar 26; AFP:  Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed the growing convergence between Beijing and the European Union on global issues from climate change to trade, urging the two sides to overcome their "suspicions".

At a meeting in Paris between Xi, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker, the leaders declared their desire to work together.
