India: People run from pillar to post to get insurance claim

New Delhi, Mar 20 (PTI) The Delhi state consumer commission has observed that claimants are made to run from pillar to post to get medical reimbursement from insurance companies and it would be "extremely tenuous" to expect a layman to read each and every clause of an insurance document before signing it.

On most occasions, a person who intends to obtain insurance has no choice to say no to a clause in an insurance policy, the commission said.

India: Man gets 3-year RI for kidnapping, molesting minor

Thane, Mar 20 (PTI) A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment by a court in Thane district of Maharashtra for kidnapping and molesting a girl.

Special POCSO court Judge P P Jadhav, in his order issued last week, also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Sandeep Vitthal Umap.

According to the prosecution, on January 13, 2017, the girl, then aged 17 years, left her home in Lokmanya Nagar here for her classes but did not return.

New Zealand mosque terror attack: First funeral held

20 Mar 2019; DW: The first funeral for victims of the Christchurch mosque shootings took place on Wednesday. A Syrian refugee named as Khaled Mustafa and his 15-year-old son Hamza were buried at the Memorial Park cemetery.

A younger brother, Zaid, was wounded in the attack. He attended the funeral in a wheelchair. 

The service was attended by hundreds of mourners. 

US ambassador Richard Grenell should be expelled

Wolfgang Kubicki, the deputy chairman of the opposition Free Democrats (FDP), said Richard Grenell's repeated interference in German sovereignty should prompt Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to immediately declare Grenell persona non grata.

Italy seizes migrant rescue boat Mare Jonio

20 Mar 2019; DW: A rescue boat carrying nearly 50 migrants has docked at the Italian island of Lampedusa. Interior Minister Matteo Salvini had denied the ship access to Italian ports, but relented in order to bring aid workers to trial.

Sicilian prosecutors on Tuesday ordered the seizure of the Italian-flagged ship "Mare Jonio." The rescue boat was allowed to dock at the Italian island of Lampedusa while accompanied by coast guard ships, following nearly two days at sea.

Israeli forces kill teen Palestinian in Occupied Territory

JERUSALEM/RAMALLAH, March 19 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian suspected of killing two Israelis was shot dead by Israeli forces in a crossfire on Tuesday night, two days after a manhunt, the army said.

Omar Amin Abu Laila, who carried out a deadly shooting and stabbing attack on Sunday, was tracked down in a house in the West Bank village of Abwein near Ramallah city, according to Palestinian media reports.

A short army notice said "the terrorist was tracked down and killed in fire exchanges with the Israel security forces."

Trump, right-wing Bolsonaro announce special relationship

Trump notes support for Brazil joining NATO, OECD

Merkel willing to fight for orderly Brexit "until last second"

BERLIN, March 19 (Xinhua) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday during the Global Solutions Summit that she is willing to fight "until the last second" of March 29 for an orderly Brexit.

There would not be much time left, but a few days would still remain, Merkel said on Tuesday, 10 days prior to the scheduled date for the Brexit.
