India: Agra woman gang-raped in Greater Noida

Noida (UP), Feb 25 (PTI) A woman from Agra was allegedly raped inside an apartment in Greater Noida by two men after she was brought there on the pretext of getting her a job, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday at the apartment in Sector Tau, under Kasna police station limits, and the accused have been arrested, they said.

India: Swaminarayan sect priest booked for rape

Ahmedabad, Feb 25 (PTI) A married woman was allegedly raped by a Swaminarayan sect priest in a moving car at knife point in Junagadh in Gujarat, police said Monday.

The accused Swami Anandswarup Dasji allegedly called the woman to meet him under the pretext of helping her to resolve a dispute with her husband, and raped her at knife point in the car on February 18, said a police official from Junagadh, around 320 kms from here.

Killed Bangladeshi plane hijacker had toy gun – police

DHAKA (Reuters) – A Bangladeshi passenger on a Dubai-bound flight who threatened to blow up the plane and tried to force his way into the cockpit was carrying a toy gun and no explosives, police said on Monday.

Police are investigating how the man had been able to board the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight in Dhaka on Sunday in the first place.

The Boeing 737-800 made an emergency landing in the southern port of Chittagong where commandos stormed the plane and shot the would-be hijacker, officials said. All 148 passengers and crew safely disembarked, police said.

Extreme right-wing police investigation; man arrested by UK terrorism cops

LONDON, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- A 33-year-old man was arrested in the Yorkshire city of Leeds Sunday by Counter Terrorism Police investigating suspected Extreme Right Wing activity.

Police said the man, who they have not named, was arrested under the Terrorism Act on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts.

He has been taken to a police station in West Yorkshire for questioning.

More sanctions to be imposed on Venezuela: Pompeo

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo said Sunday in an interview that the United States would impose more sanctions against Venezuela.

"There'll be a meeting of the Lima Group on Monday, where further action will be contemplated. There are more sanctions to be had," Pompeo said in the interview with CNN.

Vice President Mike Pence would travel to Colombia on Feb. 25 to attend a Lima Group meeting on behalf of President Donald Trump, the White House said on Thursday.

Iran says West turns Mideast into "powder keg" via arms sales

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that the West has turned the Middle East into a "powder keg" through arms sales to the Arab countries in the region, Press TV reported.

Over the past year alone, the West sold weapons worth 100 billion U.S. dollars to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, said Zarif.

"The weapons did not bring security to anyone," he added.

British PM May postpones Brexit vote by March 12

Erdogan will not meet Sisi until inmates are released
