New Delhi, Oct 18 (PTI) Tata Sons is mulling acquiring stake in crisis-hit Jet Airways, according to sources.

The diversified Tata Group owns majority stakes in two airline joint ventures -- Vistara and AirAsia India.

Sources said Tata Sons is mulling purchasing stake in Jet Airways and that the plans are at a very early stage.

Tata Sons is the promoter of the major operating Tata companies.

KANPUR: Uttar Pradesh High School & Intermediate Board will declare its list of examination centres on October 25, this year.  

As many as 147 examination centres were arranged last year.

A total of 55,936 class 10 students and 47,253 class 12 students are expected to appear for the final examinations this year.

Pamba (Ker), Oct 18 (PTI) A Delhi-based woman journalist of a foreign media outlet, who trekked the Sabarimala Hill, was Thursday stopped midway by Lord Ayyappa devotees opposing entry of women of menstrual age into the hill shrine.

The journalist accompanied by her male colleague, a foreigner, descended the hills from Marakkoottam area in the face of mounting protest by Ayyappa devotees.

Reporters of Malayalam news channels who followed the journalist to the hill shrine said the devotees shouted slogans ladies go back .

New Delhi, Oct 18 (PTI) Several records have gone missing from Income Tax department because of a restructuring drive in 2001 and 2013, the Central Information Commission has been informed.

Information Commissioner Bimal Julka noted it in one of the cases heard by him when the tax department could not furnish information about pension fund in NTPC to an RTI applicant.

ANKARA, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkish foreign minister on Friday said they have not shared any audio recording of Khashoggi case with anyone, amid reports that Ankara had given a recording related to the missing Saudi journalist to the United States.

"Turkey did not give anyone or any country the recording. It is out of question for Turkey to give any kind of audio tape to Pompeo or any other U.S. official," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told media during a visit to Albania, Turkish meida Hurriyet quoted as saying.

BEIRUT, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Friday that a progress regarding the cabinet formation in Lebanon is ongoing but a few obstacles still remain, local TV Channel Al Jadeed reported.

"There are still some problems related to the distribution of cabinet shares," said Nasrallah in a televised speech.

He denied allegations by some media outlets about Iran and Syria preventing government formation in Lebanon.

Noida (UP), Oct 18 (PTI) The Noida Police Thursday said it had busted a fake call centre operating from the city and arrested the mastermind for allegedly duping Canadians and other foreign nationals.

Working on an input from the Canadian police, the fake call centre operating out of Sector 63 was busted, the police said.

"The Noida police and its cyber cell tracked down the conmen, who were offering 'tax benefits' to foreigners in return for money," Station House Officer, Phase 3 Police Station Akhilsh Tripathi said.
