23 Mar 2021; MEMO: Yemen's Houthi group said Monday that it targeted Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport with a drone attack, Anadolu Agency reported.

"This afternoon, the Air Force [of the group] carried out an attack operation on Abha International Airport with Qasef-2K drone, and the strike was accurate," the group's spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement.

He went on to assert that the group's operation "will continue as long as the aggression and siege continue."

22 Mar 2021; MEMO: Saudi Arabia presented a new peace initiative on Monday to end the war in Yemen, including a nationwide ceasefire and the reopening of air and sea links, but Houthi said the offer did not appear to go far enough to lift a blockade, Reuters reports.

SANAA, Mar 21 (NNN-SABA) – Yemen’s Houthi rebels said yesterday, three tear gas bombs, fired by their riot forces, are the cause of the deadly fire, that broke out earlier this month, inside a migrant detention centre in Sanaa, and killed at least 45 African migrants.

There were a total of 862 African migrants in the seven-ward migrant detention centre, and the accident took place on Mar 7, in Ward No. 1, which hosted 358 of the detained African migrants, according to the Houthi-controlled interior ministry’s statement.

21 Mar 2021; MEMO: The Saudi-led coalition battling Yemen's Houthi group struck military targets belonging to the Iran-aligned movement in the capital Sanaa in the early hours of Sunday, residents said, according to a report by Reuters.

SANAA, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi militia said they launched attacks at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait city of southwestern Saudi Arabia on Friday, using two explosive-laden drones.

"The attacks hit the targets inside the air base accurately," Houthi-run al-Masirah TV quoted the militia military spokesman Yehya Sarea as saying.

SANAA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi militia said they targeted Abha airport and King Khaled Airbase in Khamis Mushait city in southwestern Saudi Arabia, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported on Monday.

"Three bomb-laded drones carried out the attacks that hit the military targets accurately," the television quoted Houthi military spokesman Yehya Sarea as saying.

The attacks were launched on Sunday night, according to other Houthi online media.

13 Mar 2021; MEMO: The US Department of State announced on Thursday that "some progress" had been made towards establishing a ceasefire in Yemen, while calling on the warring parties to commit further to this step.

This came in a statement following the return of the US Special Envoy for Yemen Timothy Linder King from a visit to the region aimed at strengthening the United Nations (UN)-led efforts to end the conflict and address a growing humanitarian disaster in the country.

SANAA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthis spokesman said Friday night that the Houthi rebel group rejected the ceasefire plan proposed by the United States special envoy for Yemen, calling it an empty one that represented the Saudi vision.

"If the U.S. was serious to stop the war and siege in Yemen, it would have declared an end to the war and siege, then we would welcome this step," Mohammed Abdulsalam told the group's al-Masirah television.

SANAA, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition on Sunday launched a series of airstrikes on Houthi-controlled military sites in Yemen's capital Sanaa, local residents said.

The strikes hit the 1st Division Camp, Maintenance Camp and the 4th Brigade in downtown Sanaa, as well as the Attan site in the southern part of the capital.

The airstrikes come as the Iran-backed Houthi rebels intensified cross-border drone and missile attacks on Saudi cities.

04 Mar 2021; MEMO: The Houthis in Yemen have accused the US of prolonging the war in their country, shortly after Washington imposed sanctions on two of the group's senior leaders.

"America is condemning itself and confirming that it is not thinking about stopping the aggression," said official spokesman Muhammad Abdul Salam on Twitter. "And that it stands behind the prolonging of the war and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis."
