India: Women are unsafe in the country: Subhasini Ali

Kanpur: Speaking at the 11th state-level conference of Janvadi Mahila Samiti at a guest house in Azad Nagar here on Tuesday, Subhasini Ali, ex-MP said the women were most unsafe in Independent India. Their exploitation was being done despite the prevalence of strict rules.

Laying stress on various other relevant and political issues she pointed out that industries were losing its value day by day which has influenced the women class to a greater extent. They were not only facing the brunt of unemployment but also bearing with insecurity all around.

India: No excess water to Pakistan: Union min

Gorakhpur (UP), Sep 16 (PTI) Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday said India will stop the flow of excess water into Pakistan without violating the Indus Water Treaty.

The Union water resources minister said the government has begun the process.

"There is a treaty between India and Pakistan on Indus river water but there is lot of excess water of other rivers which flows to Pakistan," he told reporters here.

India: Gold-like coins unearthed in a village field

India: Honour killing in UP: Dalit burnt alive

Hardoi (UP), Sep 16 (PTI) A 20-year-old Dalit man was allegedly burnt alive over his relationship with a woman from another caste, a killing that his relatives said also led to his mother's death.

According to the police, the suspected case of honour killing occurred at Bhadesa area of Hardoi district on Saturday.

Abhishek alias Monu was beaten up, kept hostage in a house and set ablaze, Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi said.

Shahjahanpur (UP), Sep 15 (PTI) The father of a law student, who accused BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of raping her, on Sunday termed the leakage of the video footage given to the SIT by his daughter, as a "conspiracy" and said he would request the Supreme Court to order a probe into it.

"From where have the screenshots and videos come to the social media? The screenshots have been posted even on various social media platforms. These were given to the SIT by my daughter. This is a conspiracy," he said.

India: DAV College students demand union elections

Kanpur: Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Degree College students raised the demand for students' union elections before the principal but they indulged in a rampage after his denial. They not only set the furniture on fire but damaged properties. When they learnt of the police force entering into the college campus they fled away raising slogans.

India: BJP leader Chinmayanand case: rape victim questioned by SIT

Shahjahanpur (UP), Sep 14 (PTI) The special investigation team questioned the postgraduate student who has accused BJP leader Chinmayanand of rape and collected evidence from the bedroom of the former Union minister's home here, sources said on Saturday.

The woman, who was asked by the SIT to submit whatever evidence she had, Saturday said she has given a pen drive containing 43 videos to support her allegations.

India: 3-yr-old girl raped by cousin in UP

Baghpat (UP), Sep 14 (PTI) A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her cousin in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, police said on Saturday.

The girl was playing with her friends when the 24-year-old man took her to a secluded spot and allegedly raped her on Friday, Superintendent of Police Pratap Gopendra Yadav said.

The accused left the child in a "very bad condition" and fled the village, they said, adding that the girl's family took her to a doctor who told them about the sexual assault.
