Palestine: Hamas ready to form coalition government

03 Apr 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced on Friday that it is ready to form a coalition government after the parliamentary election.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Mubasher TV, Hamas official Ismail Ridwan stated: "Even if Hamas won the majority of the seats in parliament, it would be ready to form a national coalition government."

He also affirmed: "We hope that the election goes ahead without Israeli interference."

Lebanon: Aoun set to establish a joint economic market with Arab countries

Covid-19 overwhelms ICUs in Syrian capital

DAMASCUS, April 2 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Inside the emergency room of a hospital of the Syrian capital, an elderly woman with Covid-19 waited for a bed at an intensive care unit packed with coronavirus patients.

Sitting on a wheelchair barely an arms-length from another patient, the woman in her seventies tilted her head back as a doctor wedged between them covered her face with an oxygen mask.

“We receive many cases who need a ventilator, and there are many patients who need intensive care,” said the doctor, Asma Sbayni of Mouwasat Hospital, one of the largest in Damascus.

02 Apr 2021; MEMO: Lebanon witnesses a suicide case every 60 hours, a new study revealed, Anadolu reports.

Based on suicide statistics from the Lebanese Internal Security Forces between January 2008 and December 2018, the study prepared by seven therapists in Lebanon was published late last month in the Asian Journal of Psychiatry.

The statistics showed that security forces reported 1,366 cases, an average of 2.4 cases per 100,000 people over 11 years.

Dr Moaz Tango is also a member of Sudan's delegation of negotiators and he was in the Emirates to participate in official talks in Abu Dhabi, which mediates between Sudan and Ethiopia on border issues.

Yemen's Houthis claim drone strikes on Saudi capital

01 Apr 2021; MEMO: Yemen's Houthi group said today that they carried out drone strikes targeting "sensitive and important" sites in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, Anadolu Agency reports.

"Today, the air force managed to carry out an offensive operation in the capital of the Saudi enemy, Riyadh, with four drones," the group's spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said in a statement.

He said the drones targeted "sensitive and important sites and the strike was accurate."
