Morocco secretly received weapons from Israel years before normalisation

20 Mar 2021; MEMO: A Hebrew newspaper shed light on "secret military relations" between Morocco and Israel, which started many years before signing the normalisation agreement in December 2020.

Researcher Jonathan Hempel, a specialist in Israeli military and security export, disclosed in an article published by Haaretz that Israeli military exports were covertly delivered to Morocco.

Saudi, Kuwait call for UN to hold Israel occupation accountable for abuse of Palestinians

19 Mar 2021; MEMO: Saudi Arabia yesterday condemned Israel's continued settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, while Kuwait called on the United Nations to hold the occupation accountable.

In a speech to the 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Saudi's permanent representative Abdulaziz Al-Wasil said: "The seventh item is a major item within the agenda of the Human Rights Council, and the kingdom will never accept the marginalisation of this item."

UNICEF voices concern over death, injury of children by landmine in Libya's Tripoli

TRIPOLI, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Friday expressed concern over the death and injury of children by a landmine in south of the Libyan capital Tripoli.

"UNICEF is deeply concerned over the death and injury of children due to an explosive remnant of war (ERW) at the Ain Zara area yesterday evening, 18 March," UNICEF said in a statement.

UNICEF revealed that a 14-year-old child was killed by the landmine and three of his siblings aged between 8 and 14 years old were injured and are now in the intensive care unit.

Yemen's Houthi militia says launches drone attacks at Saudi King Khalid Air Base

SANAA, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi militia said they launched attacks at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait city of southwestern Saudi Arabia on Friday, using two explosive-laden drones.

"The attacks hit the targets inside the air base accurately," Houthi-run al-Masirah TV quoted the militia military spokesman Yehya Sarea as saying.

Israel receives a letter from ICC about war crimes probe

19 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israel has received a letter from the International Criminal Court (ICC) giving details of the scope of its war crimes investigation against the occupation state and Hamas, Channel 13 reported on Wednesday. The letter apparently arrived last weekend.

According to the news channel, the National Security Council has already met to begin formulating Israel's response. The government has 30 days in which to do this.

PA rejects Israel's garden scheme on roofs of historic Jerusalem markets

19 Mar 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Authority rejected a proposed scheme on Thursday to establish a large botanical garden on the roofs of historic markets in the Muslim quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. A statement from the Foreign Ministry condemned the proposal, describing it as part of Israel's "Judaisation war" against Jerusalem, its citizens and sanctities.

Biden's comments on Putin 'unacceptable': Erdogan

19 Mar 2021; MEMO: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said today that Joe Biden's comments about Russia's Vladimir Putin, in which he said he thought he was a killer, were "unacceptable" and unfitting of a US president, Reuters reported.

In a TV interview broadcast on Wednesday, Biden said "I do" when asked if he believed Putin was a killer, prompting US-Russia ties to sink to a new low. Putin later responded that "he who said it, did it."
