India: Doctors treating Covid patients develop amnesia

Kanpur: Not only senior and junior doctors but the paramedical staff and other health workers treating the Covid patients also suffer from dehydration, giddiness, amnesia and headache due to their hectic eight-hour schedule.

More than 50 doctors and health workers of Gnesh Shankar Vidyarthi medical College are facing such sort of symptoms. This topic has been referred to in the medical college. 

They neither take anything to eat nor avail of the air-conditioning nor the electric fan air during the duty hours.

Sri Lanka imposes indefinite curfew in 2 towns after detection of new COVID-19 case

Colombo, Oct 4 (PTI) Sri Lanka on Sunday imposed an indefinite curfew on two western provincial towns to contain the spread of the coronavirus following the detection of a community case after a gap of nearly six months, officials said.

The island nation has so far recorded 3,395 coronavirus cases and 13 fatalities due to the disease.

India’s COVID-19 fatalities top 100,000, behind US, Brazil

NEW DELHI (AP) — India crossed 100,000 confirmed COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, putting the country’s toll at nearly 10% of the global fatalities and behind only the United States and Brazil.

The Health Ministry reported another 1,069 fatalities in the past 24 hours, driving the death toll to 100,842. It also raised the country’s confirmed caseload to more than 6.4 million with 79,476 new infections.

Turkey added to UK’s quarantine list

02 Oct 2020; MEMO: Turkey was added to the UK’s coronavirus quarantine list, meaning travellers will have to self-isolate for two weeks on their return to the kingdom, the Department for Transport (DfT) announced last night.

The new legislation comes into effect for people arriving in the UK after 4 am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, an estimated 10,000 British holidaymakers in Turkey face a choice between paying  for an immediate flight home, or spending two weeks in isolation upon their return.

USA: Donald and Melania Trump test Covid-19 positive

Washington DC; 02 Oct 2020 (UMMN):  US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump have tested coronavirus positive early Friday.

"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" Trump tweeted shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
