Israeli settlers chop down 70 olive trees, let loose sheep to destroy Palestinian farm

09 Dec 2021; MEMO: Israeli settlers, today, cut down 70 olive trees in Masafer Yatta, south of the West Bank city of Hebron, reported Wafa News Agency.

According to Fouad Al-Imour, a local activist, dozens of settlers from the illegal settlement of Mitzpe Yair chopped down 70 olive trees owned by a local resident in Khillit Al-Dabe village of Masafer Yatta.

Morever, the settlers took their herd of sheep to the Palestinian farmland and let them loose so they could damage the crops.

PA calls for probing Israel's disposal of hazardous nuclear waste in the occupied territories

08 Dec 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh yesterday called for probing Israel's burial of hazardous nuclear and chemical waste in the occupied Palestinian territories, Arab48 reported.

During a conference about Climate Change held in Ramallah and attended by a number of foreign ambassadors, Shtayyeh shed light on the dangerous Israeli measures that devastate the Palestinian environment.

Israel's travel bans on Palestine journalists condemned by rights groups

08 Dec 2021; MEMO: Two prominent international rights groups yesterday condemned travel bans imposed by Israel on Palestinian journalists, which mean they are unable to leave the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

In a joint statement, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (Euro-Med Monitor) called for an immediate end to the unjustified Israeli practice.

Hamas mulls escalation with Israel, accuses Egypt of delaying Gaza reconstruction

06 Dec 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, is mulling escalation with the Israeli occupation over its continuous siege on Gaza Strip, Al-Jazeera reported a Hamas source as saying on Monday evening.

According to the source, Al-Jazeera also said that Hamas had accused Egypt of delaying the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

UN Human Rights Office 'shocked' by 'extra-judicial' killing of Palestinian youth

The UN Human Rights Office said on Saturday night that it was "shocked" by the "extra-judicial" killing of Palestinian youth Mohammad Salimah by Israeli border police.

"The UN Human Rights Office is shocked by the apparent extra-judicial execution of Mohammad Shawkat Sleemah today at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem," a statement posted on the office's Facebook page said.

Israel gives 'full backing' to soldiers who killed wounded Palestinian

06 Dec 2021; MEMO: Top Israeli occupation officials, including Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, yesterday hailed the Israeli police border officers who killed at point blank range a wounded Palestinian youth.

Palestinian youth Mohammad Salimah, 25, was shot dead after wounding an Israeli at Jerusalem's Damascus Gate on Saturday.

Israeli newspaper the Jerusalem Post reported that the killing of the motionless Palestinian had been described as a "war crime".

Hamas applauds Malaysia's anti-normalisation stance

"Hamas hails Malaysia's genuine stance of rejecting all forms of normalisation with the Zionist enemy, and the latest was refusing the entry of a Zionist sports team to its land," the statement said.

During his monthly press briefing, Wennesland said: "In the West Bank, a severe fiscal and economic crisis is threatening the stability of Palestinian institutions."

Hamas to take legal action against UK for declaring it terror group

29 Nov 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, announced Sunday that it will take legal action against the UK, which recently listed it as a terrorist organization, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Speaking at an online conference held by the Centre for Palestinian Refugee Studies, Hamas Political Bureau chief, Mousa Abu Marzouk said the group is actively working with various institutions and organisations against the move.

Israel orders Palestinians halt construction of 32 houses in occipied West Bank

30 Nov 2021; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities yesterday ordered Palestinians halt the construction of 32 houses in the village of Qusra, southeast of Nablus, local sources reported.

Deputy head of the village council, Imad Jamil, said: "Israeli forces delivered stop-construction orders against 32 houses in addition to a demolition order of an agricultural shed in the village."

These houses are owned by Palestinians and they are being built on private Palestinian land.
