EU Diplomats Oppose Israeli Settlement Policy In West Bank

RAMALLAH, Nov 24 (NNN-WAFA) – Heads of missions and representatives from the European Union (EU) and like-minded countries, affirmed strong opposition to Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank.

The diplomats visited several areas in the West Bank and near East Jerusalem, following a recent announcement by the Israeli government to advance major settlement plans in the area.

Palestine: Hamas Chief Orders Immediate Action Against British Ban

GAZA, Nov 25 (NNN-PNN) – The politburo chief of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, yesterday ordered immediate action against the British move to ban the movement and list it as a terror group.

Taher al-Nouno, Haniyeh’s aide, told reporters in Gaza that, since the British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, decided to consider Hamas as a terror group, the movement’s chief has ordered to take immediate action to confront the decision.

Palestine: PA calls for blacklisting Israel settlements, settlers

The Palestinian Authority (PA) yesterday called on the international community to blacklist Israeli settlements and declare armed settlers terrorist organisation.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry condemned the "crime" carried out by the "terrorist Jewish settlers" in which three Palestinians were wounded, including one who suffered serious injuries.

Jewish settlers threw stones at a Palestinian vehicle yesterday, causing it to crash injuring three passengers.

Israel advances plan to build 9,000 settlement units in occupied West Bank

25 Nov 2021; MEMO: Israel's Jerusalem Municipality advanced plans to build 9,000 settlement units on the site of the deserted Kalandiya Airport in the occupied Palestinian West Bank, local media revealed yesterday.

The proposal is now set to be considered by the District Committee for Planning and Building, under the auspices of the Finance Ministry, on 6 December, the Times of Israel said.

Palestine: Jerusalem's Sheikh Ekrema Sabri calls for defending Al-Aqsa Mosque

24 Nov 2021; MEMO: Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque and head of High Islamic Commission in Jerusalem, yesterday called for defending the holy site against increasing Israeli raids, Quds Press reported.

In a statement, Sheikh Sabri said: "The Israeli occupation has turned the city of Jerusalem into a military base since Sunday and has escalated its provocative measures against worshippers."

Palestinian administrative detainee, Kayed Al-Fasfous, wins battle for freedom

23 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian detainee, Kayed Al-Fasfous, wins a decisive victory and ends his hunger strike which lasted for 131 days after an agreement was reached to end his administrative detention and release him after 23 days.

Israeli authorities have issued an order to release him on 14 December.

Kayed Al-Fasfous, father of one daughter, has been on a hunger strike for 131 days in protest against his administrative detention without trial.

Uprooted in 1948, Palestinian family fears another displacement

The family of Muhammad Abd Al-Razzaq Al-Sabbagh owned a building and a large house in the city of Jaffa, in northern occupied Palestine, now Israel, before moving to East Jerusalem following the Palestinian exodus of 1948, Anadolu News Agency reports.

For years, the family, comprising 32 people now, has feared a new displacement after receiving many decisions from settler groups to evict them from the house that they have resided in since 1956 in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem.

Sick Palestinian prisoner 'dies of medical negligence' in Israel custody

19 Nov 2021; MEMO: A Palestinian prisoner who has been held in Israeli jails for 13 years died today in what Palestinian rights groups believe is a result of medical negligence on the part of Israeli prison authorities.

Thirty-nine-year-old Sami Al-Amour from the Deir Al-Balah refugee camp in the besieged Gaza Strip, was announced dead this morning at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba after he was held at a military checkpoint for 14 hours while on his way to the medical centre.

Palestinian President Discusses Israeli-Palestinian Conflict With U.S. Ambassador To UN

RAMALLAH, Nov 18 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, yesterday discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Abbas met with Thomas-Greenfield at his office in the West Bank city of Ramallah, and warned that Israel’s practices in the Palestinian territories “would undermine the vision of the two-state solution.”
