Palestine urges UNSC to stop Israel escalations

05 May 2022; MEMO: Palestine has called on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and stop the Israeli escalation against Palestinians and their sanctities, Anadolu news agency reported.

A statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on the Security Council to "take the necessary measures to pressure the Israeli government to stop its aggression and escalation against the Palestinians and force it to abide by international law."

US and Israel block Palestinian rights activists from attending UN civil society forum

05 May 2022; MEMO: The US and Israel have blocked leading Palestinian human rights activists from attending the UN Civil Society Forum in Mexico City, Quds Press reported yesterday.

The Director of Addameer for Human Rights, Sahar Francis, and the Director of Bisan Centre for Research and Development, Ubai Al-Aboudi, were both stopped by the Israeli authorities, apparently at America's request.

Palestine: Illegal settlers raise Israeli flag on Ibrahimi Mosque

05 May 2022; MEMO: A group of illegal settlers and Israeli forces raised the Israeli flag on top of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron in the occupied West Bank yesterday, Wafa news agency reported.

Flags were placed on top of the mosque and along its walls as part of Israel's preparations for its Independence Day celebrations on 14 May.

Palestinian Killed By Israeli Soldiers In Northern West Bank: Medics

RAMALLAH, Apr 30 (NNN-WAFA) – A 27-year-old Palestinian was killed and three others were injured late last night, by Israeli soldiers, in clashes near the West Bank city of Qalqilya, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Yahia Odwan was killed during clashes that broke out in the village of Azoon, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, the ministry said in a short press statement.

Israeli authorities have not given any immediate comment on the incidents.

Palestinian administrative detainees continue boycott of Israel military courts for day 113

30 April 2022; MEMO: Around 500 Palestinian administrative detainees, detained without trial or charge, have been boycotting Israeli military courts for the 113th consecutive day, the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced on Friday.

The administrative detainees are taking the measure to underscore the need to end this cruel, unjust practice that helps maintain Israel's apartheid system against Palestinians.

Palestinians face danger reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque

30 April 2022; MEMO: Thousands of Palestinians have challenged the Israeli closure of the occupied city of Jerusalem, putting themselves in danger trying to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque.

During his stay inside the third holiest place for Muslims, a Quds Press reporter met with several Palestinians who faced danger due to the Israeli siege imposed on Jerusalem.

Israel approves new 31-unit settlement construction in occupied West Bank

29 April 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Supreme Court today approved the construction of a 31-unit six-storey settler apartment complex in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, known as the Hezekiah Quarter.

The court rejected a petition submitted by the Peace Now rights group and the Municipality of Hebron against the complex, which is built on Palestinian land in the heart of the occupied city.

Israel detains 6 Palestine fishermen, destroy their boats off Gaza coast

28 April 2022; MEMO: Israeli naval forces detained six Palestinian fishermen yesterday and destroyed their boat off the Rafah coast, south of the blockaded Gaza Strip, reported Wafa news agency.

Zakaria Baker of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAEC) in Gaza said that Israeli gunboats opened fire on a group of fishermen while they were sailing north of the sea of Rafah, before arresting them and confiscating their two boats.

Israel to station reserve battalions along the illegal Separation Wall

28 April 2022; MEMO: Six Israeli reserve battalions will be stationed along the illegal Separation Wall that isolates the occupied West Bank from Israel, the military announced yesterday.

The decision to call-up reserve battalions in replacement of regular forces was approved by the Chief of the Israeli Army, Aviv Kohavi, in order to prevent Palestinians from entering Israel without passing through one of the occupation's illegal checkpoints in the West Bank.

Israeli soldiers kill Palestinian in W. Bank clash, militant group says

RAMALLAH, West Bank, April 27 (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, medics and a militant group said, in clashes that erupted after an arrest raid.

It was the second time in two days that Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian during a late-night incursion.
