Palestine: More than 150,000 worshippers attend Al-Aqsa Mosque Friday prayer

23 April 2022; MEMO: More than 150,000 Palestinian worshippers, mostly from Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank and Israel, attended Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, reported the Islamic Waqf Authority.

This came despite Israeli occupation police restrictions, including the closure of many roads leading to the Old City of Jerusalem, forcing worshippers to use longer routes to reach the holy site.

Abbas Calls On U.S. To Intervene To Stop Israeli Measures In Palestinian Territories

RAMALLAH, Apr 22 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has on U.S. President, Joe Biden, and his administration, to intervene to stop Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories, mainly in East Jerusalem.

Abbas made the request yesterday, in a meeting with U.S. Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Yael Lambert and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israel and Palestinian Affairs, Hady Amr in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Israel to close West Bank, Gaza crossings for final days of Jewish Passover

21 April 2022; MEMO: The West Bank and Gaza Strip crossings will be closed during the final days of the Jewish Passover holiday, according to the Israeli military.

The closures are standard practice during the Jewish holidays, in what the military claim is a preventative measure.

Israeli Fighter Jets Bombard Hamas Facility In Gaza

GAZA, Apr 21 (NNN-WAFA) – Israeli fighter jets last night bombarded a military facility belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) military, in central Gaza, in response to a rocket from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel.

Hamas security officials said that, the facility was severely damaged, but no injuries were reported. It was the second Israeli airstrike on Hamas military facilities in Gaza in less than two days, due to rocket attacks on Israel.

Israel, Gaza militants trade fire as Mideast tensions mount

Jerusalem, Apr 21 (AP) Palestinian militants fired several rockets into southern Israel from the Gaza Strip early on Thursday and Israeli aircraft hit militant targets in Gaza, part of an escalation that was eerily similar to the run-up to last year's Israel-Gaza war.

The cross-border strikes came against the backdrop of Israeli-Palestinian tensions that have been boiling in Jerusalem.

Israel occupation forces storm Al-Aqsa Mosque again and attack worshippers

21 April 2022; MEMO: Large groups of Israeli occupation police stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning in advance of mass incursions by groups of illegal Jewish settlers. Muslim worshippers in the Noble Sanctuary, men, women and children, were attacked brutally by the police.

According to the Red Crescent Society, twenty Palestinians were injured as a result of Israel's suppression of protests against the settler incursions.

21 April 2022; MEMO: Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Interior Minister Omer Bar-Lev have been told that the decision to limit the number of Christians visiting Jerusalem's historic Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a "flagrant violation" of Palestinian rights.

Israel is working to remove Jordan as custodian of Al-Aqsa

20 April 2022; MEMO: Israel is beginning to impose temporal and spatial divisions of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the deputy director of the Islamic Awqaf in Occupied Jerusalem has warned.

The Palestinian Information Centre reported Sheikh Najeh Bakirat accusing the occupation of making efforts to impose its administrative control over Al-Aqsa Mosque and end Jordan's role as the custodian of the holy site.
