23 Nov 2021; MEMO: As many as 12 Sudanese ministers resigned yesterday in protest of the deal concluded between the reinstated Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok, and the head of Sudan's ruling military council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

On Sunday, Hamdok concluded a political agreement with Al-Burhan to end a nearly one-month-long crisis that threatened to undermine the country's political transition.

23 Nov 2021; MEMO: Egypt and Israel backed the military coup carried out on 25 October by army chief Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, Foreign Minister Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi revealed yesterday.

In a discussion with the Atlantic Council, Al-Mahdi said Egypt refrained from expressing publicly its support for the coup while refusing to condemn it when "it was pressed by the US to do so."

KHARTOUM, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Sudan's Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said on Monday that maintaining the economic gains from the past two years was among the reasons he had decided to return to his post, under a deal with the military nearly a month after he was removed in a coup.

In an interview with Reuters at the Khartoum residence where he had been held under house arrest following the Oct. 25 military takeover, Hamdok said he believed a technocratic government he is expected to appoint would have a chance to improve living standards.

21 Nov 2021; MEMO: Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok will be restored to his office on Sunday weeks after he was ousted by the military, two sources from the dissolved government told Anadolu Agency.

The sources who asked for anonymity as they are not authorized to talk to the media confirmed that the deal was brokered by Sudanese mediation team including politicians, academics, clerics, and other figures.

19 Nov 2021; MEMO: The UN's Human Rights Chief, on Thursday, condemned the killing of at least 39 people by Sudanese security forces since the 25 October military coup in the country, and lethal shootings in three different places the day before, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, said 15 people were reportedly shot dead on Wednesday during protests in the capital Khartoum, as well as the Khartoum-Bahri and Omdurman centres.

18 Nov 2021; MEMO: At least ten protesters were killed by the Sudanese army and others were wounded as thousands rallied yesterday against last month's military coup.

According to the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors (CCSD), 14 protesters were killed. "There are more than 80 wounded, a large number of them seriously, and they are between life and death," the CCSD said on Facebook, adding that some hospitals in the capital city of Khartoum were also "attacked".

16 Nov 2021; MEMO: Sudanese authorities have released Al Jazeera Media Network bureau chief in Khartoum, El Musalmi El Kabbashi, Al Jazeera reported this morning.

Sudanese authorities did not give a reason for El Kabbashi's detention in a night raid on his home, the news organisation said. He spent two days in prison.

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — The Qatar-based satellite news network Al-Jazeera said Sunday its bureau chief in Sudan was detained by security forces, a day after mass protests across the country against last month’s military coup.

The network said on Twitter that Sudanese forces raided the home of al-Musallami al-Kabbashi and detained him.

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — Sudanese security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas on Saturday to disperse protesters denouncing the military’s tightening grip on the country, killing at least three and wounding several, activists said.

The violence came as thousands of pro-democracy protesters yet again took to the streets across Sudan to rally against the military’s takeover last month. The coup has drawn international criticism and massive protests in the streets of the capital of Khartoum and elsewhere in the country.

13 Nov 2021; MEMO: Former Head of Qatar's Ministerial Council Hamad Bin Jassim Al-Thani revealed on Friday that Israel and an Arab state had planned the latest military coup in Sudan.
