ANKARA, May 12 (Xinhua): Turkey tries to convince the United States to accept its proposal on forming a committee for examination on technical concerns about its procurement of an advanced Russian missile defense system.

"The experts should say the last word. We said that a joint working group should be set up and NATO should chair it. We know what we do about it," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said earlier.

Tensions between Ankara and Washington have reached a fever pitch over the former's plans for procurement of Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile system.

MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/:  A group of Northern Fleet ships led by the Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship entered the Norwegian Sea on the way to the home base, the fleet’s press service reported on Monday.

"The Severomorsk large ant-submarine ship and the Vyazma medium sea tanker entered the southern part of the Norwegian Sea. The group is heading to Severomorsk, the main base of the Northern Fleet. It is expected to arrive at the end of the week," the statement says.

HO CHI MINH CITY, May 12 (Xinhua): Police and border guards of Vietnam’s southern Long An province on Sunday arrested a local man for transporting 57 kg of crystal meth and nearly seven kg of heroin from Cambodia to Vietnam, local online newspaper VnExpress reported.

The drug trafficker is Truong Quoc Cuong, 41, from Long An. Cuong confessed that he had engaged in cross-border drug transport.

Mumbai, May 12 (PTI) Two men were Sunday arrested for allegedly molesting a woman cyclist at Worli here, police said.

The incident had occurred in the wee hours of Saturday, when the woman was on her way to Haji Ali, an official said.

"The accused, who were going on a motorcycle, had touched the cyclist inappropriately and even went ahead smiling at her," he said.

OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso (AP) — Authorities say gunmen have attacked a Catholic church in Burkina Faso, killing a priest and five worshippers.

The attack on Sunday took place in Dablo, about 200 kilometers (124 miles) from the capital, Ouagadougou.

Urbain Kabore, a government spokesman for the West African country’s Sahel region, said the gunmen also set fire to a health center and destroyed all places serving alcohol.

London, May 11 (PTI) Theresa May could be forced to set an exact date for her resignation as Conservative Party leader to make way for a new British Prime Minister in the coming days, a senior Tory MP has said.

Sir Graham Brady, who chairs the influential backbench 1922 Committee of the Conservative Party, told the BBC that he expects a "clear understanding" of May's departure timetable once she has met the committee on Wednesday.

"It would be strange for that not to result in a clear understanding (of when she will leave) at the end of the meeting," said Brady.
