Los Angeles police identify suspect in Nipsey Hussle slaying

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police are seeking a 29-year-old man who they believe shot and killed Nipsey Hussle outside the rapper’s clothing store where he was trying to remake his community.

Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore has scheduled a briefing Tuesday morning in which he will discuss how detectives came to identify Eric Holder as the man suspected of killing Hussle Sunday afternoon and wounding two others. No additional details, other than that Holder is suspected of fleeing in a 2016 Chevy Cruze with the license plate 7RJD742, have been released.

China's new relay satellite to help video calls possible with space station

BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- A new relay satellite launched late Sunday night will allow videos calls to be made between China's future space station and the ground and provide data transmission and control services for various spacecraft.

The Tianlian II-01 satellite was sent to an orbit at an altitude of 36,000 km by a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province at 11:51 p.m. Beijing Time on Sunday.

US Starliner spacecraft arrives in Russia

TUNIS, April 1. /TASS/. Tunisia’s company TELNET on Monday signed a contract with the Russian operator of commercial launches of Soyuz-2 rockets GK Launch Services for putting in space Tunisia’s first satellite, the Webmanagercenter portal said.

The Tunisian group TELNET held a special ceremony at the Digital Research Center in Sfax on Monday of signing a contract for launching in 2020 its first satellite Challenge ONE with Russia’s Soyuz-2 rocket. Taking part in the ceremony were GK Launch Services CEO Alexander Serkin and TELNET CEO Mohamed Frikha.

Trump’s threat to close border stirs fears of economic harm

Foreign brands cut prices in China as VAT rates go down

SHANGHAI, April 1 (Xinhua) -- World famous consumer brands including Apple, Louis Vuitton and Gucci have announced their decisions to cut their suggested retail prices to give the gains from China's value-added tax (VAT) cut to consumers.

China on Monday started to slash VAT in multiple industries.

Apple's online store in China lowered the price of iPhone XS and iPhone XS MAX by 500 yuan (74.6 U.S. dollars), while that of iPhone XR dropped 300 yuan. Its newly launched iPad Air, iPad mini and AirPods are also on the price-cut list.

Indian kidney racket busted, 3 held

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (PTI) An international kidney racket was busted with the arrest of three people who allegedly lured a 33-year-old man from Hyderabad and got his kidney removed in Turkey after promising to pay Rs 20 lakh, police said Monday.

Amrish Prathap, kingpin of the crime, and his two accomplices, Sandeep Kumar alias Rohan Malik and a 37-year-old woman, were arrested from Delhi and produced before a court there and brought to Hyderabad on a transit remand, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat told reporters here.

Saudi Aramco shows $111 billion net profit

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Saudi Aramco’s net profits reached $111 billion last year, according to an assessment published Monday by Moody’s Investors Services that offered a rare glimpse into the state-owned oil firm’s finances before it issues its first bonds in international markets.

That places Aramco ahead of some of the world’s most profitable firms. By contrast, Apple booked a net profit of about $60 billion in its last full year, Royal Dutch Shell had net income of $23 billion and Exxon Mobil $21 billion.

In Sweden, naked policeman arrests fugitive in sauna

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — There’s no escape from the long arm of the law in Sweden. Not even sitting naked in a sauna.

Police spokewoman Carina Skagerlind says an off-duty police officer found himself sitting in the same sauna in Rinkeby, a Stockholm suburb, as a fugitive who had dodged a jail sentence for aggravated assault, among other offenses.

Skagerlind says after recognizing each other, “the naked police officer calmly told the man that he should consider himself arrested.”
