India: Noida metro suspended till March 31

Noida (UP), Mar 22 (PTI) The services of the Noida-Greater Noida metro have been suspended till March 31 with immediate effect due to the coronavirus outbreak, officials said on Sunday.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), which operates the Aqua Line, has also announced suspension of its city bus services for the same duration.

India: SP leader booked over misleading comments on COVID-19

Azamgarh (UP), Mar 21 (PTI) Senior Samajwadi Party leader and former MP Ramakant Yadav has been booked for giving misleading statements pertaining to COVID-19, police said on Saturday.

"The government is spreading rumours on coronavirus to divert attention from NRC, CAA, unemployment and price rise, so that people do not protest against the government," Yadav said at the party office here on Friday.

India: Singer Kanika Kapoor booked for corona negligence

Lucknow, Mar 20 (PTI) Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who had attended several gatherings here and tested positive for coronavirus has been booked for negligence and disobedience to the order issued by a public servant, an official said.

The FIR was registered against at Sarojini Nagar police station, said Police Commissioner Surjit Pandey.

India: 4 test positive in Lucknow, cases rise to 23 in UP

Lucknow, Mar 20 (PTI) Four people tested positive for novel coronavirus in Lucknow, taking the total number of cases in Uttar Pradesh to 23, an official said on Friday.

The four COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the King George's Medical University, a health department official said.

The total number of confirmed cases of the deadly infection in the state is 23 -- eight each in Agra and Lucknow, four in Noida, two in Ghaziabad and another in Lakhimpur Kheri -- so far, according to the official.
