The SPG, intelligence, Police and CID personnel were suddenly dazed to see the DM Vijay Vishwas Pant running fast towards the CM's helicopter on the agriculture university ground. 

Muzaffarnagar, Dec 13 (PTI) A special court here on Friday held a man guilty of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old dalit girl for over nine months six year ago on the pretext of marrying her.

Special Judge Sanjiv Kumar Tiwari, trying cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, held Jonny Thakur, a resident of Khedi village under Gharipukhta police station in Shamli district on charges of raping the teenaged girl in 2013.

Banda (UP), Dec 14 (PTI) In a chilling reminder of the recent Unnao case, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped and set ablaze at a village in neighbouring Fatehpur district here on Saturday.

She is battling for life at a Kanpur hospital with 90 per cent burns.

The 22-year-old accused is her distant relative, who allegedly raped the girl when she was alone at her house in a village under the Hussainganj police station, Circle Officer Kapil Dev Mishra said.

Kanpur: On the day of the Prime Minister's visit to the city, the 150-feet road in Jajmau appeared in its full width with cleanliness all over the road. Even lime powder on both the sides of the road drew our attention.

Reacting on this sudden change of the wide road the residents of the area expressed their satisfaction and elation. They added such a day comes very rarely. Would that there were weekly visits to the very very important persons in the city. 

Banda (UP), Dec 13 (PTI) A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the adjoining Mahoba district by her neighbour, police said on Friday.

The girl was alone in the house on November 21 when the neighbour, Rahul Paswan (22), allegedly raped her, Inspector Abhimanyu Singh Yadav said.

The accused had threatened her with dire consequences but she narrated her ordeal to her family on Thursday when the neighbour asked her to meet at a secluded place, Yadav said.

Banda (UP), Dec 13 (PTI) At least nine cows allegedly died at a government-run shelter from severe cold and starvation in the Attara area of the district.

The cattle at Kanha Pashu Ashram Kendra, run by the local civic body, were old and died in the past two days, Attara SDM Saurabh Shukla said.

The SDM said on inspection, the shelter was found dirty after which two employees were suspended in this connection.

Fatehpur (UP), Dec 12 (PTI) A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in a village in Hathgama area here, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place on December 5 when the girl was playing near her house. Moolchand (36) allegedly lured the girl with a toffee, took her to a secluded place and raped her, they said.

The girl formed her family members who admitted her to a nursing home. The FIR in the matter was registered on Wednesday night and efforts are on on to nab the accused, police said.

Kanpur (UP) Dec 12 (PTI) A 19-year-old deaf and mute girl was allegedly raped by a man at a village in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place on Tuesday night and the accused has been identified as Sanjay Gautam, they said.

The accused took the girl to an isolated place near her house when her family members were having dinner and raped her. The accused also threatened the victim of dire consequences, said Station House Officer (Bithoor), Vinod Kumar Singh.

Aligarh, 12 Dec 2019: 25,000 students of Aligarh Muslim University have called for a hunger strike from tomorrow against the religion-based Citizenship Bill, that was passed in the Lok Sabha around midnight on Monday and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

“All the dining halls will be locked and a total of 25000 residential students are going to sit on hunger strike,” one of the organizers told Maktoob.

“The exclusion of Muslims from the bill, and the government’s plan of nation wide NRC together reveal the genocidal intention of government,” the students said.

Muzaffarnagar, Dec 11 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl in the Purkazi area here, police said on Wednesday.

Rajiv, 21, had adducted the 14-year-old girl from her house and raped her on November 12, they said.

The girl was rescued on December 8, police added.
