India: Police nab gang of six robbers including four minors in Kanpur

Kanpur: In a shocking incident, a woman was dragged and critically injured by miscreants who were trying to snatch her chain and rob her.

Investigating the matter, the West Zone's SWAT team and Panki bust a gang involved in chain snatching and other criminal activities in the city and beyond areas.

Taking action on the matter, a team of the SWAT team, surveillance and police station was formed.

The police have arrested six robbers with dozens of mobiles and taken them into custody. Out of these six, four were minors.

India: Man sets himself on fire and pulls girl to burn also in Kanpur

Kanpur: A man with hearing and speech impairment set himself on fire and pulled a woman towards him with the intention of burning her here on Tuesday.

The man, identified as Vijay, is a resident of Jaipur. The woman, Rachana, is also impaired.

According to the girl's father, "Vijay came in contact with his daughter, Rachana, through social media a few days back and they have been in contact since."

He entered the house with the intention of burning his daughter along with him.

India: Weather reports hint at risk of dehydration & heatstroke

Kanpur: Thursday's weather reports indicate at hazy sunshine and very hot; the danger of dehydration and heatstroke if one happens to hang around outdoor for extended lengths of running time.

The minimum temperature after 1 p.m. dangles around 21° Celsius in Jajmau.

The hotness restricts one to go out during noontime. Not only the hot sun hampers  the body's movement but it reduces bodily energy also.

Why should one go out if the ultimate fear of heatstroke looms large upon us? The intensity of the summer season increases day after day.

India: Nanoparticles play a crucial role in trapping water pollutants

Kanpur: City has its environmental risks but villages are still prone to the contaminated water. This causes the skin diseases.

Throwing light on this point Dr Archana Raichur said that the contaminated water people use commonly for their daily domestic usage.

She happens to be a scientist fellow at the mechanical engineering department, IIT here.

She learnt about the issue during her stay in the villages for about four months in the year 2019.

India: Kanpur Nagar out of 24 districts where Inter English exam cancelled

Kanpur: Kanpur Nagar was not among those districts where the Intermediate class English paper of UP Madhyamik Siksha Parishad was cancelled due to paper leak today.

Though the paper was cancelled in Kanpur Dehat district.

It was due to be held in the afternoon today, as the news said.

It was reported that the paper was held as scheduled in all other districts.

As many as 24 districts were reported where the paper has been cancelled.

The monkeys do not commonly bite but the dogs leap to bite. The civic body does not show enough effort to catch both the animals to ensure the safety of strollers.

India: Man axed to death at Kanpur's Narwhal police station

Kanpur: A brutal incident shocked people as a man was killed with an axe in the Pali area of Narwhal police station here.

The body of the deceased was found soaked up in the blood when the police reached the spot.

The police, who reached the spot on information, took the body into possession and sent it for post-mortem after investigation.

The deceased, identified as Uday Bhan alias Chhotu, was attacked with an axe and murdered, which has now been sent for forensic examination.

India: History sheeter got shot in the leg at Kanpur's Nawabganj

Kanpur: Intensifying its strict action the police have shot a history-sheeter in his leg late at night in the Nawabganj area here. The history-sheeter Sanjay alias Dhaba has serious cases against him.

DCP West BBGTS Murthy told that late at night vehicles were being checked from Ganga Barrage to Bithoor Road by the SWOT team and police station Nawabganj.

Then two persons on a motorcycle appeared coming.

When the police team on checking duty stopped them, they started running away on a motorcycle.

India: Three held with 1.25 crore QR codes, ten lakh lids & 40 lakh washers

Kanpur: It has been reported that three people with 1.25 crore QR codes, 10 lakh lids and 40 lakh washers have been arrested by the police. They used to sell a bottle full of spurious liquor as a branded one.

Their value is being said to be more than two crores. Additional Chief Secretary Home and DGP have announced a reward of one lakh rupees each to SP Outer for the arrest.

According to the SP, this is the biggest seizure in the state. With the help of 1.25 crore QR codes, a cache of spurious liquor could be brought to the market.
