Hamas says lost contact with group responsible for five Israeli hostages

CAIRO, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Hamas said on Saturday it has lost contact with a group responsible for five Israeli hostages being held captive in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombardment.

The Palestinian Islamist group believes the hostages were killed during an Israeli raid, Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, was quoted as saying in a statement on the group's Telegram channel.

Reuters was not able to verify the report and there was no immediate response from the Israeli authorities.

Egypt: Al Jazeera says cameraman killed in Gaza by drone strike on school building

CAIRO, Dec 15 (Reuters) - A cameraman for Al Jazeera was killed by a drone strike on Friday while reporting on the earlier bombing of a school used as a shelter for displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip, the Arabic broadcaster said.

Cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa was unable to get to safety or medical treatment after being injured in the strike on the Farhana School in Khan Younis and died of his wounds before ambulances were allowed in the area, Al Jazeera said.

Presidents of Egypt, Russia agree on continued efforts to reach ceasefire in Gaza

1st fuel truck enters Gaza from Egypt

CAIRO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The first truck loaded with about 25,000 liters of fuel crossed the Egyptian side of Rafah crossing on Wednesday en route to the Gaza Strip, according to an Egyptian security source.

The fuel would be delivered to the United Nations to facilitate the delivery of aid and would enter Gaza directly without inspection by the Israeli side, the source told Xinhua on conditions of anonymity.

Yemen's Houthis launch a new batch of drones against Israel -statement

CAIRO, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Yemen's Houthis launched a new batch of drones against sensitive targets inside Israel on Monday, according to a statement from their armed forces broadcast by TV channel Al Masirah.

The statement said the targets of the drones were "varied and sensitive" and led to halting the movement in the targeted bases and airports for hours.

Egypt activists demand Rafah Crossing remain open after Jabaliya massacre
