Palestine requests Arab League emergency meeting over Israeli attacks on Gaza: source

CAIRO, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Palestine requested an Arab League (AL) emergency meeting at the level of foreign ministers to discuss the Israeli "aggression" on the Gaza Strip.

Mohannad Aklouk, Palestine's permanent representative at the AL submitted the official request after coordination with Saudi Arabia, a source in the office of the Palestinian representative to the AL told Xinhua on Monday.

35 Killed, 53 Injured In Multiple Vehicle Collisions In Egypt

CAIRO, Oct 29 (NNN-MENA) – At least 35 people were killed and 53 others injured, yesterday, in multiple vehicle collisions on a desert road, in Egypt’s Beheira governorate, state-run Ahram newspaper reported.

Security investigations showed the accident was caused by an oil leak from a car travelling on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road near Beheira, which led to many vehicles colliding with each other.

Egypt’s President, UN Chief Discuss Ways To Relieve Gaza Civilians Amid Israeli Siege

CAIRO, Oct 29 (NNN-MENA) – Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, received a phone call from United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, yesterday, during which they discussed ways to protect civilians of the Palestinian Gaza Strip, facing an ongoing Israeli siege and bombardment.

The talks focused on “the ongoing diplomatic efforts to stop the escalation in the Gaza Strip,” said the Egyptian presidency in a statement.

6 injured in Egypt resort town explosion

CAIRO, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were wounded in a blast related to the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict early Friday in Taba, an Egyptian Red Sea resort town near the Israeli border, local media reported.

"The rocket targeted an ambulance facility and residential building of administrative workers of the Taba hospital," Egypt's Al Qahera News TV said, quoting sources as saying that the blast was related to Israel-Hamas conflict.

TV footage showed damage in the building.

Egypt plays positive role in de-escalating Gaza crisis: president

CAIRO, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said on Wednesday that Egypt is playing a positive role to de-escalate the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Sisi made his remarks during an inspection of the Third Field Army's Fourth Armoured Division in Suez province on the 50th anniversary of the October War victory, according to state-run Nile TV.

Israel's condemnation of Guterres "attempt of moral, political blackmail": AL chief

CAIRO, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit denounced Israel's recent condemnation of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the AL said in a statement on Wednesday.

"It is an attempt of moral and political blackmail," Aboul-Gheit made the remarks before his return to Cairo following his participation in the UN Security Council (UNSC) session in New York, which was dedicated to discussing the developments in Gaza.

Egypt Announces New Round Of Tripartite Negotiations On Nile Dam

CAIRO, Oct 24 (NNN-MENA) – The Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, announced yesterday, the launch of a new tripartite round of ministerial negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

In a statement, the ministry said, the new round kicked off in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, yesterday morning, with the participation of delegations from Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia.

Egypt: Hamas expresses readiness for Israeli ground operation in Gaza

CAIRO, October 23. /TASS/: Hamas is ready to confront Israeli forces if they launch a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, said the Palestinian radical group’s spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua.

"[The Palestinian] resistance has unity and strength, as it can control combat operations and has a high level of readiness to resist any ground aggression in Gaza," al-Qanoua said in a statement, posted on Hamas’ Telegram channel.
