Israel puts off approval of additional new settlement units in occupied West Bank

27 Oct 2021; MEMO: Israeli authorities have postponed a meeting due to be held today to approve the construction of more than 3,000 new settlement units in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, Israel Hayom reported.

According to the news site, the Israeli Planning, Organisation, and Construction Council postponed its meeting following US pressure on the Israeli government related to the settlement expansion project.

Israel navy confiscates destroy Gaza fishing boat

27 Oct 2021; MEMO: The Israeli occupation's navy this morning confiscated two fishing boats off the Gaza coast and destroyed a third.

According to the Head of the Fishermen's Syndicate, Nizar Ayyash, the two fishing boats were owned by fishermen Abdullah Al-Bardaweel.

While the one that was destroyed was owned by Mohammad Al-Bardaweel, Ayyash said, noting that the Israeli navy also destroyed lights and other equipment used for fishing.

Palestine Welcomes Europe’s Position Against Israeli Settlement Expansion In W. Bank

RAMALLAH, Oct 26 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday welcomed European position that opposes the expansion of Israeli settlement in the West Bank.

In a press statement, Ishtaye called on both Europe and the United States, “to take firm positions to stop Israeli settlement expansion in Palestinian territories, and to protect the principle of the two-state solution.”

Ishtaye made the remarks, shortly before he started a tour of Europe to earn political and financial support for the Palestinian people.

Palestine: Hamas calls for confronting Israel over Muslim cemetery demolition

26 Oct 2021; MEMO: The Israeli demolition of Al-Yusufiya cemetery in the occupied city of Jerusalem is a "heinous crime," Hamas said yesterday.

"What is happening in Al-Yusufiya cemetery is a heinous crime that is part of a series of crimes against Jerusalem's cemeteries," Hamas spokesman Mohammed Hamadeh said in a statement, describing the move as "blatant proof of the brutality of the occupation which has extended its attacks on Palestinians who are alive and dead."

Palestinian PM Says Tourism Back After One-And-Half-Year Pause

RAMALLAH, Oct 25 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday announced that, international tourism in Palestine was back, after it had stopped for one year and a half, due to the spread of the COVID-19.

Ishtaye made the remarks, at the inauguration of several development projects in the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

“Although Israel wasn’t allowing foreign tourists to stay overnight in the city of Bethlehem, the city is now ready for local and international tourism,” said Ishtaye, after visiting the city with other Palestinian ministers.

EU Condemns “Israeli Measures” Against Palestinian Children

RAMALLAH, Oct 23 (NNN-WAFA) – The European Union (EU) mission to Palestine, yesterday condemned the Israeli measures against Palestinian children in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to an official EU statement.

The statement said that the EU “was appalled to witness a series of violations against Palestinian children by the Israeli occupation forces, in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.”

Israel to approve 3,000 new settlement units in West Bank

22 Oct 2021; MEMO: Israel is set to advance the construction of more than 3,000 settlement units in the occupied West Bank including East Jerusalem, local media reported.

The weekly schedule published by the Civil Administration's planning committee showed that it intends to approve the construction of the new settlement units in Revava, Kedumim, Elon Moreh, Karnei Shomron and settler communities in Gush Etzion and the Hebron Hills.

Hamas hails Malaysia's rejection of normalisation with Israel

21 Oct 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement hailed on Wednesday Malaysia's rejection of normalisation of ties with Israel.

Hamas thanked Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saifuddin Abdullah, for "refuting Israel claims" that his country will join "the train of normalisation with the Zionist entity."

The movement also expressed its appreciation for Malaysian "support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Zionist occupation."
