09 August 2022; MEMO: Israel will never break our will, Al-Watan Voice reported a Palestinian family saying after occupation forces demolished their home.

Israeli occupation demolished the houses of Palestinian prisoners Sobhi Sbeehat and Asaad Al-Refae in in the city of Jenin yesterday.

Sbeehat's grandfather said: "A large number of Israeli occupation forces raided Rommana neighbourhood, broke into our house and forcefully evacuated us."

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — With a cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian militants holding after nearly three days of violence, Gaza’s sole power plant resumed operations Monday as Israel began reopening crossings into the territory.

Israel also lifted security restrictions on southern Israeli communities after the Egyptian-mediated truce took effect late Sunday. Fighting abated, and war-weary people in Gaza and Israel were left picking up the pieces after another round of violence — the worst since an 11-day war between Israel and Hamas last year.

08 August 2022; MEMO: Egyptian sources announced late on Sunday that a ceasefire agreement was reached between Islamic Jihad and Israel to take effect from 11:30pm local time. Officials on both sides confirmed the agreement and thanked Egypt's mediators.

08 August 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas yesterday called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its crimes, spokesman Hazem Qasem said.

Speaking to Anadolu, Qasem said: "Israel carries out war crimes and state terrorism against the Palestinians. This makes it necessary to hold it accountable at all levels," pointing to the International Criminal Court.

08 August 2022; MEMO: The healthcare system in the besieged Gaza Strip is on the verge of collapse, Palestinian officials warned on Sunday. They blame the ongoing 15-year Israeli siege of the occupied Palestinian territory and the large of number of casualties during Israel's latest military offensive.

Moreover, for the fifth consecutive day, Israel has tightened the closure of the Gaza crossings through which food and other basic commodities, including fuel for the sole electricity plant, enter the coastal enclave.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers forced their way into the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem, according to a Palestinian official.

The official with the Jordan-run Islamic Waqf Department told Anadolu Agency that the settlers entered the site through the mosque's Al-Mugharbah Gate under Israeli police protection.

He said the settlers were escorted by right-wing rabbi Yehuda Glick.

The settler incursions came amid rising tensions across the Palestinian territories over the ongoing Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel said Sunday it killed a senior Islamic Jihad commander in a crowded Gaza refugee camp, the second such targeted attack since launching its high-stakes military offensive against the militant group just before the weekend.

The Iran-backed militant group has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel in response, raising the risk of the cross-border fighting turning into a full-fledged war.

06 August 2022; MEMO: At least ten people, including four children aged between 9 and 11 have been killed in Israeli air strikes in northern and southern Gaza.

Since the start of the Israeli strikes on Friday afternoon, there were the most violent Israeli attacks as they also left about 40 others wounded.

Four children were among the eight people killed in a strike in Jabalia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip.

06 August 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that the death toll from Israeli bombing of Gaza, which has continued for the second day, rose to 15 in addition to 125 wounded, a statement said.

Among the 15 dead, the statement said, a 5-year-old girl.

The ministry stated that there is a 40 per cent shortage of equipment and basic medicines, and a 60 per cent shortage of laboratory equipment due to the Israeli closure of the Gaza crossing, which started four days ago.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli airstrikes flattened homes in Gaza on Saturday and rocket barrages into southern Israel persisted, raising fears of an escalation in a conflict that has killed at least 15 people in the coastal strip.

The fighting began with Israel’s killing of a senior commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group in a wave of strikes Friday that Israel said were meant to prevent an imminent attack. A 5-year-old girl and two women are among those killed in the strikes.
