Firefighters Rescued 83 People As Heavy Rains Swept Kuwait

KUWAIT, Nov 30 (NNN-KUNA) – Firefighters rescued a total of 83 peopl, during heavy rains that hit Kuwait over the past two days, Kuwait Fire Force (KFF), said.

The people rescued were trapped in their vehicles, in areas where rainwater has accumulated, most of which were in Al-Jahra governorate, the Public Relations and Information Department at KFF said.

Authorities received more than 170 emergency calls, mostly in desert areas, KFF explained, adding that, no injuries were reported, as firefighters handled all emergency cases it received.

164,000 People Newly Displaced In Yemen In 2020

ADEN, Nov 30 (NNN-SABA) – The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said yesterday that more than 164,000 people have been displaced, since the beginning of this year in Yemen, which has been witnessing a bloody conflict for nearly six years.

“Since the start of this year, over 164,000 people have been newly displaced in Yemen, mostly by conflict,” the international organisation said in a statement.

Turkey's exports up 5.6% to $17.33B in Oct

30 Nov 2020; AA: Turkey's exports rose 5.6% to reach $17.33 billion in October, on a yearly basis, the country's statistical authority announced on Monday.

The country's imports also posted an increase of 8.4% to reach $19.7 billion in the same month versus October 2019.

Meanwhile, the foreign trade deficit was at $2.37 billion, up 34.4% annually.

The export-import coverage ratio was 88% in October, down from 90.3% in the same month in 2019.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the head of Research and Innovation Organization of Iran Ministry of Defense, was assassinated in a terrorist attack near Tehran on Friday afternoon.

The statement, which was issued on Sunday night, warned that the terrorist attack could further fuel conflict in the region.

Yemen: Houthis claim killing of 8 Saudi soldiers in Marib

Yemen's Houthi rebel group has claimed the killing of eight Saudi soldiers in eastern Yemen, Anadolu reports.

"The missile force [of the group] managed, on Saturday evening, to target the joint operations room in the Tadawin camp in the Marib province, with a Badr-P ballistic missile, and the strike was accurate," the group's spokesman, Yahya Sarea, said late Sunday.

He added that the attack had killed eight Saudi commanders and soldiers, wounding seven others.

29 Nov 2020; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces committed 414 violations against Palestinian journalists since start of the year, Quds Press reported yesterday.

The Journalists' Support Committee said in a statement that Israeli occupation forces "intentionally attack journalists" in an attempt to "suppress the truth about their violations".
