SANAA, Oct 14 (NNN-SABA) – Yemen’s Shiite Houthi rebels said, they shot down a “spy drone” over the Yemeni Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Sunday.

“The spy drone of the aggressors’ forces was downed over the Kilo 16 area,” the rebels’ TV al-Masirah reported, without giving further details.

The Saudi Arabia-led coalition, did not comment on the rebels’ claim.

2 Oct 2019; MEMO: The UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, arrived in Sanaa on Tuesday to consult with leaders of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) on ways to achieve a truce with Saudi Arabia.

A source in the UN envoy’s office said that Griffiths arrived in Sanaa with his assistant, Moin Shraim, from the Jordanian capital Amman where his permanent office is located.

SANAA, Sept 30 (NNN-SABA) – Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Sarea said, in a live broadcast by Yemen’s Houthi TV, al-Masirah, over 2,000 soldiers of Saudi-led coalition forces were “captured” in a major offensive on Saudi’s border province of Najran.

“Around 500 other coalition soldiers were killed or injured during the attack,” Sarea added.

He said that the military operation was supported by missile forces and drone strikes on Najran airport.

SANAA (Reuters) - A fuel shortage is deepening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis, forcing drivers to wait for days in queues that stretch back from some petrol stations as far as the eye can see.

The new shortage is just one of many problems causing suffering in the civil war being fought by the Iran-aligned Houthi movement and a Saudi-led coalition backed by the West.

But its consequences are far-reaching. Fuel is needed not just for cars but also for water pumps, hospital generators and to transport goods around a country where millions are on the brink of famine.

24 Sep 2019; MEMO: If Saudi Arabia continues its air strikes, blockade and aggression against Yemen, the Houthis will respond in a “more painful, deadly and destructive”, the group’s leader warned on Friday.

Addressing Al-Masirah TV on the fifth anniversary of the 21 September Revolution, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi warned Saudi against the “ongoing shelling, blockade and aggression” in Yemen.

SANAA, Sept 24 (NNN-SABA) – At least seven people in a family were killed, when Saudi-led coalition air strike hit the family house and adjoining mosque, in Yemen’s northern province of Amran, Monday, local medics said.

The victims included four children, one medic said.

The house and the mosque were reduced to the ground by three airstrikes, said residents.

Late Sunday night, the Houthi al-Masirah TV reported 27 coalition airstrikes on three northern provinces.

SANAA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Houthis in Yemen on Friday announced a peace initiative to stop attacks on Saudi Arabia with drones and ballistic missiles, a senior Houthi official was cited by the Houthi-controlled al-Masirah TV.

"We announce the stop of targeting Saudi soil with drones and ballistic missiles," Mahdi al-Mashat, Houthi president of the Supreme Political Council, said in a speech to mark his group's fifth year of revolution against the exiled government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

SANAA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition launched a series of airstrikes early on Friday on Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, targeting four sites which it said used by Yemeni Houthi rebels for assembling remote-controlled boats and sea mines.

In a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, the coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said the targeted sites in the north of Hodeidah were used by Houthis to carry out "terrorist operations" that threaten shipping lines and the international trade in Bab al-Mandab Strait and in the south of the Red Sea.

MOSCOW, Sept 20 (NNN-BERNAMA-SPUTNIK) — The Saudi-led coalition launched a military operation against “military facilities” of the Houthi rebels in the northern part of the Yemeni province of Al Hudaydah, Sputnik news agency reported, quoting media reports on Friday.

The coalition has also called on civilians to keep distant from the targets of the operation, the Ekhbariya broadcaster reported.

The information about the start of the operation was confirmed by the coalition’s spokesman, Col. Turki Maliki.
