India: Scientists develop aromatic fabric in Kanpur

KANPUR: It was not known that a type of fabric delivering aroma would be developed. It has now been done so blatantly.

Though the scientists have developed a wholly new variety of cloth, the idea behind this fresh concept goes with the medical textiles laboratory of the City's Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre, as was reported.

Its assistant director S V Shukla pointed out that trials were going on to find out how many washes fragrance can truly survive.

India: Woman gang-raped by two men in UP

Pratapgarh (UP), Jul 23 (PTI) A 32-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped in a village under Fatanpur police station area here, police said on Thursday.

The victim lodged a complaint in which it is alleged that she had contacted Sangam Lal alias Lala and Dinesh for renting a house. Both of them had called her to a secluded place to talk about the rent where they allegedly raped her on Wednesday, Raniganj Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Anjan said.

An FIR has been registered and both men have been arrested, the DSP added.

India: Students told to join online classes to appear at test

KANPUR: The students should not take online lessons lightly as the absence from the regular online classes would bar them to appear at the forthcoming terminal tests.

In the instructions given to the students, it has been very clearly apprised them about the disqualification if they remain absent from live classes in google meet.

However, the teachers have still been adopting a lenient approach and advised them to join the live classes within a few days prior to the start of the tests.

India: 'Crime virus' more active than coronavirus in UP: Mayawati

Lucknow, Jul 22 (PTI) BSP chief Mayawati on Wednesday said "crime virus" spread by criminals is more active than coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh.

"The way heinous crimes like murder and those against women are continuing unabated, it is clear that instead of law and order, jungle raj is prevailing in UP. Crime virus of criminals is more active than coronavirus in UP. People are fed up and the government must address this issue," Mayawati said in a tweet in Hindi.

India: Journalist shot at by assailants dies in UP

Ghaziabad (UP), Jul 22 (PTI) Ghaziabad-based journalist Vikram Joshi, who was shot in the head by some assailants, succumbed to injuries early Wednesday, his family said.

Joshi had lodged a complaint with the police alleging harassment of his niece on July 16 and was shot at around 10.30 pm on Monday near his home in Vijay Nagar area, according to officials.

India: Woman strangled to death by in-laws over dowry in UP

Etah (UP), Jul 21 (PTI) A 28-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her in-laws over dowry in Sattarpur village here on Tuesday, police said.

Kiran Devi's in-laws fled after killing her, they said.

Victim's father Ajab Singh alleged that his daughter was being harassed for dowry by her in-laws and they had killed her, the police said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said.

An investigation has been launched. No arrests have been made so far.

india: Students facing network problem during virtual lessons

KANPUR: Online classes are now the reality of the day. It is not practical to open the school in view of increasing cases of the coronavirus. Control is yet not clearly possible that leads to the execution of lockdown again.

Students are attending the virtual classes staying at the precincts of their respective homes. What they require is an internet link for learning their subjects on different days.

India: Teachers fail to discipline students in online classes

KANPUR: It seems the teachers are not able to control the pupils in the online classes like they used to be disciplining the students in the normal classes at the school.

Feeling free at the online class in the morning hours not all but a few or even one or two students manage to indulge in some naughty ways to distract the teachers who remain in full concentration to impart skills of three R's to them.

One recent instance of this distraction though not the first time happened prior to the start of the periodic test today.
