India: Woman, daughter attempt self-immolation outside UP CM's office

Lucknow, Jul 18 (PTI) A woman and her daughter set themselves on fire in front of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office here allegedly over police inaction in a land dispute case in Amethi.

The mother-daughter duo sustained burn injuries and were admitted to the civil hospital where their condition was said to be critical, police said.

The quick answer from the bank officials for this fault remains server is not working in order. But when the server is down how do other transactions carry on the counter?

India: Babri trial: I am innocent, allegations baseless, says Kalyan Singh

Lucknow, Jul 13 (PTI) Senior BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh on Monday blamed the then Congress government at the Centre for levelling "false and baseless allegations" against him in the Babri mosque demolition case and said he was "innocent".

"The then Congress government at the Centre levelled false and baseless allegations against me and filed a case out of political animosity," he told reporters after appearing before a CBI special court here in connection with the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.

India: UP Police announce reward for info on Gram Pradhan shooters

Bulandshahr, Jul 13 (PTI) Police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each for information leading to the arrest of three shooters who allegedly killed a former village head in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district last month, officials said on Monday.

Sanjay, a former 'pradhan' of Jadaul village in Khanpur area, was killed on June 15, when some assailants in an SUV intercepted his car and fired multiple rounds at him, the officials said.

India: Swarms of locusts seen in UP

Lucknow, Jul 12 (PTI) Swarms of locusts were seen in Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Gonda and Agra districts of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

In a statement issued here, the state agriculture department said, "Locusts were on Sunday seen at different places in Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Gonda and Agra.

The agriculture department is continuously monitoring the locusts, and the task to eliminate them will begin late in the night. Two teams of the department are keeping an eye on the movement of the insects, it said.

India: Man held for sexually harassing woman in UP's Shamli

Muzaffarnagar, Jul 13 (PTI) A man was arrested for sexually harassing a 30-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Monday.

The incident took place at Chandenamal village under Thana Bhawan Police Station on Sunday.

A case was registered against the accused identified as Ankur, police said.

KANPUR: Online classes are in full swing now. What irks the students of younger age group is that they are receiving the information in regard to the subject link at the time they are not considering suitable. It should be at an early time, they urged.

However, the teachers are looking at the attendance, homework and everything else, as they used to be during the class at the school.
